Terms of Service

RobinPhone lets you place outbound calls to phone numbers in supported countries from your web browser, on a pay-as-you-go basis using prepaid credit. You may optionally verify a number you own, or rent a number through us, to use as your caller ID. Supported destinations, features, and rates may change at any time. Inbound calling (receiving calls) is not guaranteed and, where offered, may require the app to be open in your browser.

You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

The Service is not a telephone service and must not be relied on to contact emergency services (including 911, 999, 995, and 112) or any other emergency or critical-communications need. Calls are carried over the internet, are not associated with a physical address, and will not work if your device, browser, internet connection, or balance is unavailable. You are responsible for maintaining an alternative means of calling emergency services.

• Calls are prepaid. You buy credit, and it is drawn down per minute of call time.
• Calls are billed per whole minute (partial minutes rounded up), at the rate shown for the destination before the call connects.
• The per-minute rate depends on the destination and may differ for mobile and landline numbers, and for calls placed from a custom caller ID. The rate shown at the time of the call applies.
• Your first minute may be offered free, once per account, to standard-rate destinations.
• Prepaid credit is non-transferable and, except where required by law, generally non-refundable. Contact support for billing issues.

You may rent a phone number through us for a recurring monthly fee (shown at purchase, currently US$4.95/month). By renting a number you agree that:

• The monthly fee is charged from your prepaid balance at purchase and automatically each month on renewal, until you cancel.
• If your balance cannot cover a renewal, the number is released and you lose it. You can cancel (release) a number at any time from the Numbers page.
• Monthly fees already charged are non-refundable, and releasing a number is permanent — you may not be able to get the same number back.
• Numbers are leased through our telecommunications provider; you do not own them. Some numbers require valid identity or address documentation to activate, and are subject to the provider's and regulators' requirements.
• We may suspend, reclaim, or release a number for non-payment, suspected fraud or abuse, or legal/regulatory reasons. Number portability is not guaranteed.

When you call, the recipient may see: a shared RobinPhone number, a number you have verified you own, or a number you rent through us. You may only display a number you are authorized to use. Impersonating another person or organization, or displaying a caller ID you do not own or control ("spoofing"), is prohibited and may be unlawful. Whether a caller ID is delivered to the recipient depends on the destination network and is not guaranteed, especially for international calls.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Call premium-rate, satellite, or special-service numbers (these are blocked).
• Make unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or abusive calls, or spam / robocalls.
• Violate any applicable telecommunications, telemarketing, or consumer-protection law.
• Display a caller ID you are not authorized to use, or impersonate anyone.
• Resell the Service or attempt to bypass rate limits, spending caps, or fraud controls.
• Access the Service using automated means or attempt to disrupt its security.

We may suspend or terminate accounts, refuse or reverse calls, and release numbers where we reasonably believe these Terms are violated or fraud is indicated.

RobinPhone is a product of Tuxstudio. The RobinPhone website and service, including its design, layout and look and feel, text, graphics, illustrations, the Robin mascot, icons, logos and software, are owned by Tuxstudio or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. "RobinPhone" and the RobinPhone logo are trademarks of Tuxstudio.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the website or service, including imitating its design or look and feel, without our prior written permission. You may link to our pages and share them for personal, non-commercial use. Using the service does not give you any ownership of, or licence to, our intellectual property beyond what you need to use the service under these Terms.

Call quality and availability depend on your internet connection, your browser, and third-party carriers. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RobinPhone is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including any inability to reach emergency services, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of unused credit in your account.

We may modify the Service or these Terms; material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms.
