About RobinPhone
RobinPhone is a pay-as-you-go web app that lets you call landlines and mobiles in 175+ countries straight from a browser — no app to download, no SIM to swap, and no subscription. You open a tab, type a number, and make a real phone call that rings on the other person's ordinary landline or mobile.
Who we are
RobinPhone started with one frustrating phone call. I was studying in Melbourne when my DBS card got blocked, and the only way to fix it was to call the bank back in Singapore. That meant an international call from an Australian phone, paid by the minute while I waited on hold. WhatsApp couldn't help, because a bank hotline isn't a WhatsApp contact.
It seemed ridiculous that I could video-call anyone in the world for free, but couldn't easily ring an ordinary phone number back home. That call stuck with me.
After that, I put together a small team in Singapore to fix it. Together we built the tool I wished I'd had in Melbourne: open a browser tab, type the number, and it rings like a normal call. No app, no SIM, no subscription.

Why we built it
International calling has always been stuck between two bad options: expensive carrier roaming and per-minute charges, or messaging apps that only work if the other person installs the same app. Neither helps when you need to reach a bank overseas, a hotel, a clinic, a landlord, or a relative who just answers their normal phone.
RobinPhone removes the friction. There's nothing to install and no commitment — you buy a little prepaid credit, pay by the minute at rates from $0.02/min, and your credit never expires. Many destinations include a free 1-minute test call, so you can hear the quality before you spend anything.
